The National Government Services Inc. Medicare Part B Provider Outreach and Education department is offering new Provider Basic 101 seminars throughout the states of Indiana and Kentucky in June-July 2011. This is a great learning experience for individuals who are new to the Medicare program or seasoned staff that may want a refresher course.
Seminars cover:
- understanding the Medicare program;
- how to become a Medicare Part B provider; and obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI);
- the advantages to participation;
- PECOS Web site;
- Medicare Part B reimbursement and payment floor;
- the difference between National Coverage Determinations (NCDs) and local coverage determinations (LCDs);
- assist participants in understanding the provider Remittance Advice (RA);
- review the appeals process;
- explain benefits of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions with Medicare;
- furnish participants with a variety of post seminar education resources; and
- look at National Government Services and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Web sites, and more!
