Are you new to submitting inpatient Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH) claims to Medicare? Or, perhaps you would like to be refreshed on Medicare's billing guidelines for LTCHs. Knowing how to properly bill Medicare for inpatient services provided in your LTCH will save time and money for everyone involved. This session will educate LTCHs on Medicare's general billing guidelines for inpatient services.

Topics will include: 

Appropriate types of bills LTCHs submit

How to interim bill if applicable

The special policy for the use of Lifetime Reserve (LTR) days in a LTCH

Where to find the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) LTCH billing resources

How to code claims in special billing situations including the preadmission services window policy (one-day payment window), billing when benefits exhaust including when ancillary claims may be billed, submitting claims paid for by the Medicare Advantage Organization (MAO) plan, interrupted stays, and more!

 

** Please note that some information will be included on billing when benefits exhaust and on interrupted stays, however, we will also offer separate educational sessions on these topics.

This session will educate providers on the different resources available on our Web site http://www.NGSMedicare.com and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Web site http://www.cms.gov. We will discuss how to navigate the Web sites and where to locate information specific to the hospice benefit.

There are no prerequisites for this session.
